How long is the rental period ? The minimum rental period is one month. The rental period, or lease, starts on the day that you first rent the unit. Rent is due each month on the 1st of the month. If the lease starts mid month, the first months rent is pro-rated accordingly. The lease renews itself automatically each month, unless you provide a move-out notice, 10 days prior to the end of the current month rental period. There is no maximum rental period.
What notice is required to move out ? The rental agreement requires written notice of at least 10 days, prior to the end of the current month rental period. However, we would ask that you give your notice one month in advance.
Do you require a security deposit ? A security deposit is required, and will be refunded to you at the end of the lease term, provided that the required 10 days notice is given, that there are no arrears in rent, and that your unit is left clean and damage free.
Is my property insured whilst in storage ? Not all insurance policies cover items whilst they are in storage – you should review the details of your policy to confirm. For those who do not have coverage under an existing policy, we do offer insurance solutions, which can be purchased when you sign your rental agreement. What is heated storage and why should I use it ? Heated storage is maintained at a stable temperature through the winter months. We recommend that you use it for storing items that are susceptible to damage from extreme cold. Please read on at Heated Storage for more information.
How can I make payments ? We offer great flexibility when it comes to making payments. Cash, credit card and cheque payments can be made at the gate to the facility by utilizing our self-service kiosk, credit card payments can be made online, or over the phone, and cheques may also be sent in the mail. You may also sign up for automated monthly billing, so you never have to worry about being late with your payments, and incurring late fees.
Do you offer any discounts ? Yes, discounts are available for seasonal and long term rental. Please refer to our Offers page for details of all discounts and special promotions.
What is your refund policy ? Refunds are not normally offered. However, if the circumstances are extenuating, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss.
Do I need my own lock ? Yes, all units are secured with your own padlock and key. If you require a padlock, they can be purchased from the self-service kiosk at the gate to the facility.
When can I access my unit ? We offer maximum convenience to our customers, with units available for access 24/7, 365 days per year.
Do you have a customer referral program ? Yes, we do have a customer referral program. Please refer to our Offers page for details.
Are there certain items that are prohibited ? Yes, it is prohibited to store any items that are: perishable, explosive, flammable, combustible, toxic, corrosive, organic, biological, chemical, odorous, noxious, or dangerous and hazardous in any way. Such items include, but are not limited to: propane tanks, gasoline, kerosene, petroleum products, paint, pain thinner, nail polish remover, varnish, glue, firearms, aerosol containers, firecrackers, matches, and fertilizer. Vehicles and equipment with motors may be stored but fuel tanks must be drained prior to storage.
